04/14/15 – CHAUNCY – A1032730 MANHATTAN, NY
4-14-2015 Manhattan
7 YEAR OLD NEUTERED ‘STRAY’ CHAUNCY WAS TOSSED AWAY LIKE TRASH-Poor sweet 7 year old CHAUNCY is listed as a ‘stray’ but is neutered, and in rough shape. This boy, despite the painful condition of stomatitis, allowed petting when it was done gently. CHAUNCY is eating, and with good vet care will recover….but he won’t get that unless someone steps up for this boy, who surely deserves a caring, loving and kind home. CHAUNCY won’t get what he needs-a home-unless someone offers to either adopt him or help a rescue and foster him. CHAUNCY has several things on his side-he’s a sweet guy, and stomatitis is treatable. CHAUNCY was probably abandoned, or perhaps he’s lost-he was neutered so chances are he was someone’s cat at some point…will you let him be someone’s cat again? Please help this gentle boy! Save CHAUNCY TONIGHT!

04/12/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Chauncy was calm and relaxed upon approach. When softly spoken to, he completely ignores the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Chauncy remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Chauncy allows touch, closes eyes, and puts his head down to rest. Note: Chauncy was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He was intolerant of handling during his initial medical exam. He becomes more reactive to more extensive handling. It is difficult to determine at this point how much of that reaction may be due to pain from his medical condition. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Chauncy tolerates attention and gentle petting on his head and body during the behavior evaluation. However, due to his reaction to handling during the medical exam and his willingness to strike out to avoid handling in certain situations, we feel that placement with experienced cat adopters is in Chauncy’s best interest. Please note that his behavior may change once his medical condition is addressed and he has recovered.
