CHARLIE – A1058737
Safe 12-4-2015 Brooklyn Rescue: Posh Pets Please honor your pledges: http://poshpetsrescue.org/
**SAFE 12/04/15** Poor CHARLIE! He had only been in his most recent home for a MONTH before those folks decided they could no longer take care of him. He’s neutered, healthy and GORGEOUS, plus he lived with another cat (Cupcake, also an Urgent PODR cat) so he has that going for him as well. Two words describe Charlie: SUPER! STAR! He may take a few minutes to warm up to someone, which just makes sense because he’s had a lot of change in his life in the past 30 days. CHARLIE needs a FOSTER of ADOPTER who can give CHARLIE the love and stability he craves! Is that YOU? Please work extra diligently to make sure CHARLIE gets what he needs tonight, or the ACC will kill him, tomorrow.

11/29/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
As per previous owner, Charlie is described as being shy around new visitors. He likes to play swat and chase with objects in the home. He enjoys being in high places at home. Upon intake he allowed scanning for microchip but attempted to flee when being collared. Reaction to assessor: Charlie lowers his head on approach. He is tense, curled up in the litter box. Reaction when softly spoken to: Charlie makes eye contact and his ears perk up. Reaction to cage door opening: Charlie buries his body into the litter box and lick lips. Reaction to touch: Charlie’s ears bend flat. He tolerates petting but whips around quickly when touched on his back. He continues to lick his lips. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Charlie tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his or her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
