08/10/15 21:17 Basic Information: Charlie is a 7 year old domestic medium hair cat who was bred at home. His owner had to surrender him because he was moving. The last time he was seen by a vet was 8/01/15. The thing his owner liked most about him was that he kept to himself. Social Life & Personality: Around children Charlie is usually tolerant but doesn’t play. He is respectful around other cats and gentle when he plays. Around dogs Charlie is very tolerant. He is litter box trained and was kept mostly indoors; he liked to sleep on the back porch at night. His activity level is low and he can be described as playful, confident, mellow, assertive, quiet and independent. Behavior Issues: Charlie has never been given a bath, gotten his nails trimmed or, had his coat brushed. He struggles when he is held or placed in a carrier. He isn’t bothered if he is disturbed while sleeping. For a New Family to Know: Charlie used clay litter in a uncovered litter box. When his previous owner was home Charlie would tend to be in his favorite spot. Charlie also did not play with his previous owner. He enjoys car rides and ate dry Purina cat chow. At night he slept on the porch. Behavior during Intake: Charlie was quiet during intake. He would try to hide under his towel when I approached. He showed no signs of aggression.

08/13/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Charlie’s former owner stated around children he is usually tolerant but doesn’t play. He is respectful around other cats and gentle when he plays. Around dogs Charlie is very tolerant. His activity level is low and he can be described as playful, confident, mellow, assertive, quiet and independent. Reaction to assessor: Charlie looks tense in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Charlie remains crouched down in his litter box, alert with pupils fully dilated. Reaction to touch: Charlie accepts the stroke, but flinches during the touch and began to lip lick in place. Placement determination: Experience/ no child Charlie tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
