***SAFE 12/05/15*** BEGINNER SWEET GINGERBREAD GIRL IS PERFECTLY HEALTHY – WHY IS SHE EVEN ON THIS LIST TONIGHT? Poor CHANA – it says she was dumped as a stray- yet it is mentioned that she slept at the foot of the bed of a 10 yr old. CHANA rocked the highest BEGINNER rating for her sweet behavior and got rave reviews from the staff. A staff member writes: Chana’s name should be china doll, because she’s a delicate little thing. Found abandoned in the hallway of an apartment building, Chana came to us with another cat that she presumably lived with. A little shy at first in a new situation, she quickly warmed up and has blossomed into a very sweet and loving cat. Her light orange fur and matching eyes make her captivating, and her wonderful personality would make her a great fit for almost any home. Come meet her today at our Manhattan Care Center. CHANA sounds more like a dumped pet than a stray cat which is conflicting to what is said in her bio. Nevertheless this orangey ball of love is not going to make it past NOON SATURDAY unless YOU step up to the plate and offer to FOSTER or ADOPT. DON’T LET CHANA BE ANOTHER STATISTIC – CONTACT A RESCUE NOW TO GET HER TO SAFETY AND GIVE HER THE HOME SHE DESERVES.

11/22/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
11/22/15 13:56 The finder described Chana as fearful initially but once she is comfortable, becomes affectionate and playful. She enjoys being held and petted. She was playful with the 10 year old child in the home. Chana was found with a male cat, Chapathi (A1058687) and they were tolerant of each other but kept their distance. They were used to sharing the same uncovered litter box and eating alongside each other. She would scratch at the finder’s wall since she didn’t have a scratching post. Chana would eat wet and dry Meow Mix cat food. She would sleep at the foot of the bed with the finder. During intake Chana was seated calmly inside of her carrier. She would initially attempt to hide when she was approached but allowed petting. She purred in reaction to being petted. She was collared, scanned for a microchip (negative) and photographed without displaying any negative behavior.
