**SAFE 11/13/15** POOR CATSPER, ADOPTED IN OCTOBER & RETURNED IN NOVEMBER….Seems CATSPER’S new owners don’t believe in sticking by family. CATSPER was found to have a heart murmur and so he got returned. Heart murmurs bear monitoring but many times they are benign and sometimes they require meds…..CATSPER is 4 years old, NEUTERED and has a fabulous BEGINNER rating. CATSPER is not only a head-butter but a body-butter too!…”Reaction to cage door opening: Cat rushes to the opening and head-butts the assessor. Reaction to touch: Cat begins to purr, rubs his entire body on the assessor, and kneads when pet. 11/12/15 13:13 Basic Information: Catsper is a four year old male domestic short hair cat with a heart murmur. Social Life and Personality: Catsper has never been around children, other cats or dogs so it is unknown how he will react to being around them. Catsper is litter box trained and has been kept indoors only. Catsper has been described as playful, mellow, friendly, affectionate, and quiet with a low activity level. Behavior Issues: Catsper has no behavior issues and has never bitten another animal or person. Catsper’s previous owner did not attempt to give Catsper a bath or trim his nails so it is unknown how he will react to these events. Catsper enjoys when people brush his coat, pick him up and hold him and doesn’t mind being placed in a carrier. For a New Family to Know: Catsper uses clumping litter in an uncovered litter box. Catsper likes to play with stuffed toys. When Catsper is a home he will follow his owner and also likes to stay in his favorite spot. When Catsper plays he is gentle. When he is in a car Catsper enjoys the ride. Catsper eats both wet and dry food form the brand science diet twice a day. Catsper likes to sleep in his owner’s bedroom. Intake Behavior: Catsper allowed staff to collar, scan for a microchip and take pictures with no signs of aggression.

Cat’s previous owner stated that he has lived with three adults and two children. He has lived with other cats and was reported to enjoy playing, loves to be pet, uses a scratching post, does not mind being cuddled and be picked up, meows when there aren’t a lot of people around, and cries when he is hungry. The owner believes that any home with a lot of affection and attention would be best for him. Reaction to assessor: Cat was calm, relaxed, and friendly by the front. Reaction when softly spoken to: Cat meows, rubs on the cage door, begins to purr and starts to knead. Reaction to cage door opening: Cat rushes to the opening and head-butts the assessor. Reaction to touch: Cat begins to purr, rubs his entire body on the assessor, and kneads when pet. He is very affectionate throughout the interaction. Reaction to being picked up: Cat remains calm and allows handling. Behavior Determination: Beginner Cat interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat can go to a beginner home.
