He is currently about 7 years old. He scanned negative for a microchip. PEOPLE He lived in a home with 3 adults and 2 children ages 1-10 years. He is usually relaxed, affectionate, respectful, and tolerant around the children, and when he plays with them, he is gentle. he is gentle when he plays with his owner. He has not bitten or scratched anyone. OTHER ANIMALS He has not lived with or interacted with anyone. PERSONALITY He is a moderately active indoor only cat who has been described as playful, friendly, affectionate, quiet, independent, and mellow. He loves chasing and playing with strings and balls especially. He struggles to get way during baths and when you place him in a carrier. He isn’t bothered if you trim his nails, brush him, hold him, or disturb him while he is sleeping. He likes the be in the same room as his owner or a favorite spot when his owner is home. He enjoys car rides. He eats Meow Mix and Friskies and is fed twice daily and his favorite treats are Meow Mix treats. He uses an uncovered and covered litter box with clumping and clay litter. He scratched on a vertical scratching post made of carpet and rough rope. TRAINING He is litter box trained and hasn’t had any accidents. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE He was somewhat nervous during the intake. He had a somewhat stiff body and dilated pupils. He allowed handling and showed no signs of aggression.

Notes: Casper at the time of the assessment was displaying timid behavior, did not come to the front of the kennel but interacts with the Assessor, appreciates attention, allows handling and tolerates all petting. Casper is displaying behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
