***SAFE 07/02/15*** BEGINNER-RATED “FRIENDLY, PURRING, CURIOUS” KITTEN WILL DIE DUE TO HER SNEEZE, DESPITE THE ACC’S “GOOD PROGNOSIS” – PLEASE GRANT CARROTS A DEATH ROW PARDON!!! Charming girl CARROTS, an adorable white and gray kitten just 9 months old, was cast adrift as a STRAY waif into the overcrowded sea of confusion that is the kill-happy ACC. Defying the scary shelter conditions, this little PURRING lovebug earned a rare but perfect BEGINNER rating for her GENTLE, TRUSTING RUBS and the EAGER way she BEGGED for petting! Carrots entered the ACC with corneal scarring and a mild case of conjunctivitis, but now she’s caught their dreaded kitty cold, which they “CURE” with lethal injections. Sure enough, a needle of death is set aside for her at noon tomorrow, despite their promise of a “GOOD PROGNOSIS for her recovery! Please don’t let them silence her sweet purrs forever. Notes: Carrots was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying friendly behavior, comes to the front of the kennel, interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Carrots is displaying behavior appropriate for a beginner cat owner. Reaction to assessor: comes to the front of the cage, soliciting, rubbing against the cage front When spoken quietly: stays at front, continues soliciting attention Reaction to door cage opening: remains soft & relaxed Reaction to touch: solicits petting and attention Try picking cat up: tolerant of this type of handling.
