CARLA – A1029827
4-9-2015 Brooklyn
SAFE 04/09/15 – Kitten season gets closer with each passing day, which means that the butchers of the NYCACC are getting in shape for another horrendous summer. What that means to Carla is that she entered the shelter pregnant, had her litter of kittens spay aborted so the vets could make sure they still know how to do that dreadful procedure, and just in case she hasn’t already lost enough? They have put her on the list to lose her life tomorrow afternoon. Carla has an EXPERIENCE rating and must not die at the hands of those who killed her babies. Advocate widely for CARLA, tonight.

03/13/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Carla came to us as a stray on 3/9/15. Upon intake it was reported that Carla was very timid; but allowed the admissions counselor to pick her up, and collar with her displaying any signs of aggression. When approached from the front of the kennel Carla was seen lying down in her litter box with neutral body language. She allowed the assessor to touch her softly, but seemed a bit alert and cautious with timid body language. She also allowed the assessor to pick her up and place her back in down in her kennel without displaying any signs of aggression. The behavior department feels that Carla would do best in an experienced home. Due to her nervous behavior it is suggested that Carla be approached slowly, upon interaction. Reaction to assessor: 2. Does not come to the front but remains neutral at the back of the cage. When spoken quietly to: 2. Does not come to the front but remains neutral at the back of the cage. Reaction to cage door opening: 2. Remains motionless and does not respond. Reaction to touch: 2. Remains motionless, and does not respond. She accepts this touch but seems to be a bit timid. When being pick up: Is tolerant of this type of handling.
