So now because of his behavior he needs a NEW HOPE RESCUE and you to save him! Contact a NEW HOPE RESCUE NOW and give CARBON a reason to trust humans again. Offer to foster or adopt, either way you will save his life!

08/08/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Carbon came into the care center as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He has allowed limited handling since intake and may be poorly socialized to humans. He has spent most of his time in a cat den. Reaction to assessor: Carbon is in his den when approached, and he cannot be coaxed out. Reaction to cage door opening: Remains inside his den, tense, with dilated pupils. Reaction to touch: Carbon does not hiss or growl but is extremely tense. He will cautiously approach and sniff a novel item but when the assessor moves to touch Carbon inside the den, he tenses further. In order to minimize stress, the interaction was ended at this point. Placement determination: New Hope Only Carbon is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has not aggressed but has avoided interaction and has allowed minimal handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
