CAMPER – A1047177
8-14-2015 Brooklyn Rescue: Heart Rescue Group Please honor your pledges: http://heartrescuegroup.com/
**SAFE 08/14/15 ** CAMPER has been HIT BY A CAR and has MULTIPLE fractures, so where does he sit tonight? Any normal person would have made sure he got straight to a vet, even if that normal person worked for an animal shelter. But, since CAMPER is at the ACC, tonight he sits ON DEATH ROW and waits to be KILLED tomorrow, when actually, his injuries are probably very fixable. CAMPER needs just ONE willing person to foster or adopt him. If that sounds like you, RIGHT NOW is your time to make your move! Straight-up adopt him, or work with a rescue group to FOSTER this great guy and let the rescue group pay for his medical expenses—all you would need to do is love CAMPER back to perfect health. Whichever way you go, you must move QUICKLY because noon will be here in a hot minute, and one of the cats on tonight’s list has to be the first to die…….

08/11/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to Assessor: Camper was calm and relaxed upon approach. He looks at the assessor when softly spoken to, but looks away after and blinks slowly. Reaction to cage door opening: Camper remains immobile. Reaction to touch: Camper meows softly and remains in place for petting. After a moment, he starts to growl, but continued to accept touch and displayed no further reaction. Reaction to being picked up: Did not attempt due to injury. Note: Camper came into the care center as an injured stray. We cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home or to his previous situation. He allowed handling and did not strike out during his initial medical exam, but he began to show signs of discomfort during the interaction with the behavior assessor. It is difficult to determine at this point how much of that reaction may be due to pain. Behavior Determination: Experience Camper tolerates attention and he allowed gentle petting during the behavior evaluation. It is difficult to determine at this time how the medical condition may be affecting the behavior. We feel that placement with experienced cat adopters is in Camper’s best interest, but please be aware that his behavior may change once he has recovered from his injury.
