CAESAR – A1058245
Gone 11-22-2015 Manhattan
***GONE 11/22/15*** DECLAWED and NEUTERED 2 YEAR OLD CAESAR NEEDS YOU TONIGHT! CEASAR belonged to someone, he lived in STATEN ISLAND and was brought to the care center there. He has a severe head tilt and his finder was able to handle him with no trouble, but now he’s growling and giving the ACC staff a hard time. He is probably in pain and frightneed, and lost. As many people don’t know that cats winding up at ACC are given only a few days to live, his owner may be looking for him-he is a young cat, and DECLAWED. CEASAR needs to get out of ACC or his life will be over tomorrow!? Will you help him by offering to foster and save his life?

11/19/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Caesar was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. The finder says that he has been coming into his yard and decided to bring him to the care center. He allowed all handling throughout the intake process and during his initial medical exam although he was nervous and growled. Please note that this cat has a severe medical condition so we may not be seeing any true behavior and behavior may change when the cat’s medical condition improves. Reaction to assessor: Caesar growls upon approach. Reaction when placing an object in the cage: Caesar sniffs it, gently places his paw on it, and lays his head down. Reaction to cage door opening: Caesar remains motionless and ignores the assessor. Reaction to touch: Caesar shifts away from touch and begins to growl. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Caesar tolerates attention and petting but it is difficult to determine at this time how his medical condition may be affecting the behavior. Due to his reaction to handling during the medical exam and his willingness to strike out to avoid handling in certain situations, we feel that placement with experienced cat adopters is in Caesar’s best interest. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a home with experienced cat parents and without children.
