Gone 12-15-2015 Manhattan
***GONE 12/15/15***HELP CREATE A HOLIDAY MIRACLE FOR BEAUTIFUL BEGINNER BUTTERFREE! Sad sigh! Butterfree and her kitty companions, Starly A1060281and Misty A1060282 were found in the finder’s backyard—obviously owner “dumps” since they were all so incredibly friendly. The finder fed them for a couple of weeks before taking them to the shelter. Too bad she couldn’t keep them or help re-home these feline friends—she probably meant well but tonight after just a few days at the ACC, this fab feline, about 10 who is a pro headbutter, extremely calm and gentle, finds her precious life in peril. She is being treated for a skin condition but we can’t let that be a death sentence for this beginner beauty. Won’t you please open up your heart and home to this great gal? Please reserve Butterfree online or let a rescue know if you can help. Transportation is available. Contact the help desk at [email protected] for assistance. Butterfree deserves a loving retirement home. Please make her dream come true. Make the call for this beautiful beginner NOW!!!

12/13/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – BEGINNER
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Butterfree was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. The finder has been feeding her for the past two weeks and believes she was a house cat because of how friendly she is. She head-butted the counselor as she walked out of her carrier. She was easy to handle throughout the intake process and during her initial medical exam. Reaction to assessor: Butterfree is calm and relaxed by the front. Reaction when softly spoken to: Butterfree sticks her head out to sniff the assessor. She then meows and rubs on the cage door. Reaction to cage door opening: Butterfree remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Butterfree slowly leans on the assessor’s hand and arches her back into petting. She begins to purr and rolls over. Reaction to being picked up: Butterfree remains calm and allows handling. Behavior Determination: Beginner Butterfree interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
