I am a male gray tabby and white domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 1 YEAR 6 MONTHS old.
I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 09/19/2015 from NY 10022, owner surrender reason stated was ALLERGIES. I came in with Group/Litter #K15-032735.

09/19/15 17:29 Basic Information: Buster is a year and 6 months. He was originally found as a stray when he was a kitten. He has no known injuries or health problems. The last time he went to the vet was last year. The two things his owner liked most about him were; he’s affectionate and independent. Social Life and Personality: Buster has not been around children, but is relaxed and respectful around dogs. He is also is relaxed and affectionate towards cats, he lived in the home with his brother Buster. Buster is litter box trained and was kept indoors only. His activity level varies. It’s high in the morning at about 5am he liked to run around the house with his brother and during the day its medium. Buster can be described as playful, confident, friendly, assertive, affectionate and quiet. Behavior Issues: Buster has never been given a bath nor had his nails trimmed. He enjoys having his coat brushed and being picked up. Owner stated he struggled when being placed in a suit case. He isn’t bothered if he is disturbed while sleeping. For a New Family to Know: Buster used clumping cat litter in a hooded litter box. He did not play with toys he would rather play with his brother Buddy. Buster had a scratching post that he used; it was made of rough rope. When his previous owners were home Buster would tend to follow them around and liked to be in the same room. Buster never really played with his previous owners. He ate dry Iam’s Healthy Adult chicken. At night he sleeps chair or bed with his brother. Behavior during Intake: Buster allowed handling and went in and out of carrier easily but his body was very tense, he stayed low to the ground, his ears were back and to the side and his pupils were dilated. He showed no signs of aggression.

As per the previous owner, Buster has not been around children but is relaxed and respectful around dogs. He is also is relaxed and affectionate towards cats, he lived in the home with his brother Buddy. His activity level varies. It’s high in the morning at about 5am he liked to run around the house with his brother and during the day its medium. Buster can be described as playful, confident, friendly, assertive, affectionate and quiet. The two things his owner liked most about him were he’s affectionate and independent. Reaction to assessor: Buster was calm and relaxed upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Buster’s eyes wander and he starts to blink. Reaction to cage door opening: Buster remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Buster’s ears bend sideways while he allows all petting, but he remains immobile throughout the interaction. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Buster tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
