Buddy was described as playful, confident, friendly, assertive, affectionate and quiet. He has also been around dogs and was very respectful towards them. Please consider making buddy your life long companion. You won’t regret it.

I am a male gray tabby and white domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 1 YEAR 7 MONTHS old.
I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 09/19/2015 from NY 10022, owner surrender reason stated was ALLERGIES. I came in with Group/Litter #K15-032735.

09/19/15 16:54 Basic Information: Buddy is a year and 6 months. He was originally found as a stray when he was a kitten. He has no known injuries or health problems. The last time he went to the vet was last year. The two things his owner liked most about him were; he’s brave and very good company. Social Life and Personality: Buster has not been around children, but is relaxed and respectful around dogs. He is also is relaxed and affectionate towards cats, he lived in the home with his brother Buster. Buddy is litter box trained and was kept indoors only. His activity level varies. It’s high in the morning at about 5am he liked to run around the house with his brother and during the day its medium. Buddy can be described as playful, confident, friendly, assertive, affectionate and quiet. Behavior Issues: Buddy has never been given a bath nor had his nails trimmed. He enjoys having his coat brushed and being picked up. Owner stated he struggled when being placed in a suit case. He isn’t bothered if he is disturbed while sleeping. For a New Family to Know: Buddy used clumping cat litter in a hooded litter box. He did not play with toys he would rather play with his brother Buster. Buddy had a scratching post that she used; it was made of rough rope. When his previous owners were home Buddy would tend to follow them around and liked to be in the same room. Buddy never really played with his previous owners. He ate dry Iam’s Healthy Adult chicken. At night he sleeps chair or bed with his brother. Behavior during Intake: Buddy allowed handling and went in and out of carrier easily but his body was very tense, he stayed low to the ground, his ears were back and to the side and his pupils were dilated. He showed no signs of aggression.

As per the previous owner, Buddy has not been around children but is relaxed and respectful around dogs. He is also is relaxed and affectionate towards cats, he lived in the home with his brother Buster. His activity level varies. It’s high in the morning at about 5am he liked to run around the house with his brother and during the day its medium. Buddy can be described as playful, confident, friendly, assertive, affectionate and quiet. The two things his owner liked most about him were he’s affectionate and independent. Reaction to assessor: Buddy was calm and relaxed upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Buddy looks at the assessor and blinks slowly. Reaction to cage door opening: Buddy remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Buddy remains in place and is stiff for petting, but leans on the assessor’s hand. He blinks slowly throughout the interaction and closes his eyes after. Behavior Determination: Experience Buddy tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
