BOOTS was in the street and let someone pet her and the next thing she knows she’s at the ACC….and she’s not happy about it…BOOTS is a year old and has a NEW HOPE rating because she is fearful and just wants out, so she is acting out….PLEASE GIVE BOOTS A HELPING HAND TONIGHT….CONTACT A NEW HOPE RESCUE AND OFFER TO FOSTER…..THESE “BOOTS” WERE MADE FOR WALKIN’….OUT OF THE ACC AND INTO A NEW LIFE!!

I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 10/05/2015 from NY 11365, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

10/05/15 13:50 Boots is a 1 year old black and white cat with no known medical conditions. Boots was wandering loose in the street and allowed finder to pet her. During intake boots was quiet.

Reaction to assessor: Boots does not come to front but remains neutral. When spoken quietly: Boots does not come to front but remains neutral. Reaction to door cage opening: Boots starts to growl. Reaction to touch: Boots hisses, strikes and does not allows petting at all. Try picking cat up: did not attempt to pick up Boots due fractious behavior. Behavior Determination: NewHope Boots has tried to and is extremely fearful. She currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
