07/28/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to Assessor: Boots was yowling and growling upon approach. He hisses and starts to yowl louder when softly spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Boots hisses and charges by the cage front. Reaction to touch: Boots does not allow touch; he hisses, charges, spits, and swats at the assessor’s hand. Note: Boots was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. The finder has kept him in their home for 2 weeks. They report that he is receptive to petting, but may attempt to bite unpredictably. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Boots is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to swat, bite, and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
