04/21/15 16:36 Basic Information: Boe is an 8yr old Tan/White DSH Cat. The Owner surrendered her due to pet restrictions in new apartment. Boe has no known health problems and hasn’t been to a vet in a few years. Boe was a gift from a neighbor several years ago. Boe’s a “to herself” Cat. Social Life & Personality: Boe isn’t too social and likes to be “left alone and to herself”. She’ll eat and drink water at night when the home is dark & quiet. Boe isn’t playful like she used to be when she was younger, she “doesn’t get along with children” she’ll hide or hiss at them. Boe lived with her younger unaltered brother and was tolerant of him. She didn’t interact much with him. Boe hasn’t had any experience with Dogs and is an indoor Cat. Behavior Issues: Boe is described as “not too friendly, and won’t let anyone mess with her”. She uses the litterbox majorly however has the occasional accident. For the Family to Know: Boe doesn’t seek attention/affection, she tends to hide. She eats dry food. Intake Behavior: Boe was fearful and hiding at the very back of the cage. When approached she hissed and low growled. To minimize stress no pictures were taken and no collar was placed on her.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Boe looks tense in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Boe remains hiding in her cat den, alert with pupils fully dilated. Reaction to touch: Boe does not allow the stroke then began to growl and swat at the assessor’s hand. Placement determination: NH ONLY Boe is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. She is stressed in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
