***GONE 07/20/15*** CRYING IN HER CARRIER WHILE BEING SURRENDERED, POOR BLUE TRIED HER BEST TO ESCAPE BUT WITH NO LUCK – HER OWNER DUMPED HER DESPITE HER CRIES FOR MOVING!! BLUE’S family had her since she was a kitten. Now at the young age of 3, after she lived happily with a family which included children, they decided to move and not take their loving cat with them.. BLUE was very upset, trying to escape her carrier, and crying in the attempts. Her owner turned a deaf ear and walked away leaving her in the kill happy ACC where she now will DIE AT NOON without a rescue. BLUE was said to be great with her young kids and even that wasn’t enough to bring her along! GIVE BLUE A DEATH ROW PARDON TONIGHT AND THE FUREVER HOME SHE DESERVES!!! CONTACT A RESCUE TO PULL HER TO SAFETY.

07/11/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
07/11/15 14:26 Blue is a black and white domestic shorthair that has been with her family since she was a kitten. She was surrendered due to the family moving out of state. The owner states she lives with adults and 3 children, ages 6,7, and 9. BLue allowed all handling from adults and the children. When the children were rough, she would just walk away from them. She is very attention seeking. It is unknown how she is around other cats or dogs. At inatke she was in a lightweight carrier, and was trying to flee it- as a result she flipped the carrier over several times while crying. She allowed all handling once out and was easy to collar and scan. Once she was held she stopped crying. Due to her constant movement, it was hard to photograph her.

07/16/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to Assessor: Blue was at the front, soliciting attention by rubbing her cheeks against the cage door. When softly spoken to, she meows and continues to rub. Reaction to cage door opening: Blue becomes stiff and alert, and starts to growl. Reaction to touch: Blue does not allow touch; she hisses and charges to the front and swats the assessor’s hand. As per previous owner, Blue lived with adults and 3 children. She allowed all handling from adults and the children. She would just walk away when the children were rough with her. She seeks a lot of attention from her owners. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Blue is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to swat and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
