Reaction to assessor: Hiding in den when I approach. (3) When spoken quietly: Continues to hide. (3) Reaction to door cage opening: Remains motionless. (2) Reaction to touch: Seems indifferent, hisses with extended petting. (3) Try picking cat up: Did not attempt, cat seems stressed. Notes: Blu came into the shelter from a home where she lived with a large dog, and allowed all handling upon intake. At the time of the assessment, Blu is displaying fearful behavior. She does not interact with the assessor and does not appreciate handling. Blu is exhibiting behavior suited for experienced cat parents who can allow her proper adjustment time.
