**GONE 11/12/15** BLITZ NEEDS TO BLOSSOM!! Right now she is a frightened six month old stray with a NEW HOPE rating….but she doesn’t have to stay that way!! Time, TLC and Patience can do a lot and we have seen it happen time after time with New Hope rated cats. BUT SOMEONE HAS TO STEP UP! Don’t leave it for someone else!! There are cats in the GONE folder because no one stepped up…..PLEASE DON’T LET BLITZ BE ANOTHER STATISTIC….CONTACT A NEW HOPE RESCUE AND APPLY TO FOSTER…..

I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 11/07/2015 from NY 10460, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

11/07/15 15:09 Behavior during intake: Blitz allowed me to pet his back while he was in the carrier. He body was crouched, he had dialated pupils and when I opended the carrier door to take him out for pictures he fled. He did not show signs of aggression.

Reaction to assessor: Blitz looks tense in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Blitz remains hiding in her cat den, alert with eyes wide open.. Reaction to touch: Blitz does not allow the stroke, attempts to escape the touch with ears down to her side. Placement determination: NH ONLY Blitz is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. She is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
