09/16/15 13:00 Blanket is a 6 yrs. old orange and white male cat who was surrendered at ACC today. Blanket is neutered and appears healthy but will undergo a full physical health exam. Blanket is described as being independent and loving. Blanket has been socialized with children but has not been socialized with other cats or dogs. When he is around children he can be relaxed and respectful and somewhat tolerant. When he is interacting with children or adults he can play with them but when he is tired of playing he will become somewhat rough to show that he wants to be left alone. He is a litter trained cat who spends time both indoors and outdoors as well. He has been spending more time out of doors as of late. He is described as being playful confident mellow friendly assertive affectionate quiet and independent. He has a low activity level when he is indoors and he is nervous meowing often when he is traveling in cars. Blanket will struggle when he is being given a bath having his nails trimmed or being placed inside of a carrier. He is not bothered when he is picked up and held or disturbed from his sleep. He uses clumping litter in a closed litter box. He likes to engage in chasing games and no longer plays with toys. He does not use a scratching post at all. He does scratch furniture on occassion and is allowed to scratch rugs in his home. He eats wet and dry food twice a day but is not allowed to have treats. When Blanket is in the house he will follow his owner around the house and he will also stay in the same room with them. He will stay whever his owner is at and will also sleep wherever he wants to in the house. During the Intake process Blanket was calm and well behaved. He allowed himself to be removed from his carrier with no issue. He also allowed himself to be collared and photographed with no issues. He allowed himself to be picked up and held with minimal effort.
