I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 06/22/2015 from NY 11208, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

06/22/15 13:15 Blakely is black with white domestic shorthair cat who arrived as a stray surrender. Upon intake Blakely blinked at counselor and was receptive to introduction. Blakely was very alert and slightly tense for handling but not defensive. Counselor was able to scan for microchip (negative) collar and photograph. Blakely was receptive to arrurance and petting but would attempt to flee when not being pet. Blakely was easily replaced to carrier and was not defensive.

Notes: Blakeley was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to was seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment he was displaying friendly behavior, did not come to the front of the kennel but interacts with the Assessor, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Blakeley is displaying behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but looks at you, calm, relaxed and friendly When spoken quietly: does not come to front but looks at you, calm, relaxed and friendly Reaction to door cage opening: remains soft and relaxed Reaction to touch: allows petting and attention Try picking cat up: tolerant of this type of handling.
