I am a female black domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 3 YEARS old.

I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 10/16/2015 from NY 10040, owner surrender reason stated was NO TIME.

10/16/15 09:33hrs Blaison has lived with his owner for the past two years. He is being surrendered because his owner did not have the time to properly care for him. SOCIAL LIFE & PERSONALITY Blaison is described as independent and affectionate. He lived in a single person home as the only pet. He enjoys being petted and normally rubs up against his owner for attention. Blaison has not interacted with other animals while living with his owner. BEHAVIOR Blaison is accustomed to being bathed by his owner every few months. He enjoys being petted and allows for his owner to pick him up. His owner stated that Blaison likes to run back and forth in the home during the evening after his owner returns home. Blaison is accustomed to having a covered and uncovered litter box in the home. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Blaison enjoys scratching at his owner’s upholstered furniture. He doesn’t play with toys often. He is accustomed to eating Friskies wet food. DURING INTAKE Blaison was calm inside of his carrier. He readily walked out of his carrier onto the counter. He remained still when a hand was extended towards him. He allowed petting on his head and would turn his head in enjoyment while being petted. He was collared, scanned for a microchip (negative) and photographed without displaying any negative behavior.

Blaison’s previous owner states that she has lived in a single person home as the only pet. She enjoys being pet and normally rubs up against the owner for attention. She doesn’t mind being picked up and likes to run back and forth in the home when the owner returns home. He was described as independent and affectionate. Reaction to assessor: Blaison was calm, relaxed, and friendly upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Blaison leans on the wall and rubs his cheeks on it to solicit attention. Reaction to cage door opening: Blaison remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Blaison head-butts lightly, leans on the assessor’s hand, and begins to purr. She lifts her butt when pet on her lower back and rolls on her side. Reaction to being picked up: Blaison remains calm and allows handling. Behavior Determination: Average Blaison interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
