Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Bilbobaggins came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Bilbobaggins was soliciting attention and allowed all handling. Reaction to assessor: Bilbobaggins is sitting in the back of his cage, looking alert. Reaction when softly spoken to: Bilbobaggins remains in place and looks at the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Bilbobaggins gets lower in his place. Reaction to touch: Bilbobaggins moves away at first, but allows all petting. Reaction to pick up: Bilbobaggins is tense during this type of handling. Placement Determination: Experience Bilbobaggins does not approach the assessor and appears to be fearful of handling. He is exhibiting behavior suited to experienced cat parents. Please note that Bilbobaggins is being treated for an upper-respiratory infection at the time of the assessment, and this may affect the behaviors shown.
