I am a neutered male black domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 11 YEARS old.

I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 05/03/2015 from NY 11231, owner surrender reason stated was PERS PROB. I came in with Group/Litter #K15-012423.

05/03/15 14:12 Bessie came in as an owner surrender with limited information. Bessie is a black domestic short hair cat who is estimated to be above 13 years of age. Upon intake Bessie was not receptive to introduction and slowly fled once out of the carrier. Bessie was not defensive but a little tense for handling. Counselor was able to scan for microchip (negative) collar and photograph. When interaction was over Bessie fled back into the carrier.

Notes: Bessie was bought into the care center by her previous owner because they had health issues. We don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to was seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment he was displaying friendly behavior, comes to the front of the kennel, interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Bessie is displaying behavior appropriate for a new cat owner. Reaction to assessor: comes to the front of the cage, soliciting, rubbing against the cage front (1) When spoken quietly: stays at front, continues soliciting attention (1) Reaction to door cage opening: remains soft & relaxed (1) Reaction to touch: solicits petting and attention (1) Try picking cat up: tolerant of this type of handling but tense Placement Determination: Averager
