This is such a sad excuse as the cat didn’t cause the problem. BESSIE is a friendly boy who is also an 11 year old SENIOR. He is already neutered and ready to have a furever home but he ACC will now kill him for catching the shelter cold!! 05/03/15 14:12 Bessie came in as an owner surrender with limited information. Bessie is a black domestic short hair cat who is estimated to be above 13 years of age. Upon intake Bessie was not receptive to introduction and slowly fled once out of the carrier. Bessie was not defensive but a little tense for handling. Counselor was able to scan for microchip (negative) collar and photograph. When interaction was over Bessie fled back into the carrier.

Notes: Bessie was bought into the care center by her previous owner because they had health issues. We don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to was seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment he was displaying friendly behavior, comes to the front of the kennel, interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Bessie is displaying behavior appropriate for a new cat owner. Reaction to assessor: comes to the front of the cage, soliciting, rubbing against the cage front (1) When spoken quietly: stays at front, continues soliciting attention (1) Reaction to door cage opening: remains soft & relaxed (1) Reaction to touch: solicits petting and attention (1) Try picking cat up: tolerant of this type of handling but tense Placement Determination: Averager
