Weight 7.6
Bernie was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. During the intake he was nervous and slightly difficult to handle due to the fact that he was brought in with multiple cats in a large carrier. Please be aware that this cat is unable to see. It is difficult to determine whether this may affect her behavior.
Reaction to assessor: Bernie was soft and relaxed at the back of the kennel.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Bernie lowers his head behind the litter box trying to hide.
Reaction to cage door opening: Bernie is neutral focused on the assessor.
Reaction to touch: Bernie lays motionless with his body curled up. He then starts to sniff the assessor’s hand.
Reaction to being picked up: Bernie was soft and relaxed when held.
Behavior Determination: Experience
Bernie may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
