I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 11/18/2015 from NY 11212, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY. I came in with Group/Litter #K15-039977.

11/18/15 19:39 Bentley is a 5 month old calico female kitten that came in as a stray. Finder stated that a man spotted them near his job and asked her to pick them up. She also stated that she was unable to handle them and had to use a trap to get them. Upon intake, Bently displayed signs of nervousness; she retreated to the back of the carrier and the slightest sounds caused her to jump. Assistance was needed to collar and photograph her; however, he displayed no signs of behavior issues.

Reaction to assessor: Bentley does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: Bentley does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: Bentley turns away and looks for some where to run Reaction to touch: Bentley tries to avoid being touched Try picking cat up: Bentley tries to flee while being held Behavior Determination: Experience At the time of the assessment Bentley was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Retreats as I started to get closer. I was able to pet her and interact with her in a limited way. I was also able to pick her up and although she was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
