I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 04/17/2015 from NY 10473, owner surrender reason stated was PERS PROB. I came in with Group/Litter #K15-010372.

04/17/15 10:39 Basic Info: Beau is a 10 year old neutered cat who has no known injuries or medical problems. Social Life and Personality: According to owner he is usually tolerant of children (has been around children ages 4 and up) but he does not play with them. He is respectful and tolerant of other cats but does not play (lived with A1033457, A1033458, and A1033459). He has never been around dogs so his behaviors are unknown. He is litter box trained, kept indoors only, and has a low level of energy. He was described as mellow, friendly, talkative, affectionate, and independent. Behaviors: He has never bitten or scratched anyone or any animal before. He struggles when his nails are clipped, he is picked up or held, and when he is placed into a carrier. He enjoys being brushed and will approach for affection. New Family Info: He is used to crystal litter inside a hooded box. He plays with catnip toys and string and scratches on a horizontal scratching post made out of rope and carpet. At home he rarely seeks attention and as fed both wet and dry food (Purina). Dry food was being done on a free feeding system but was schedule fed the wet food one can each evening. Intake Behavior: During intake Beau would meow/cry loudly and would retreat from extended hand. Allowed to be collared without aggression but when taken out to be pictured and transferred he tried to flee and would retreat from all contact. When placed inside new carrier retreated to back and when touched had stiff body.

Please take note: According to the former owner he is usually tolerant of children (has been around children ages 4 and up) but he does not play with them. He is respectful and tolerant of other cats but does not play. He was described as mellow, friendly, talkative, affectionate, and independent. Reaction to assessor: Beau looks neutral in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Beau remains lying down in a relaxed position on his cage bedding, alert with soft eyes. Reaction to touch: Beau allow the stroke, began to knead in place then head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: He allows the pickup and remains neutral. Placement determination: Average Beau interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.

Chief Complaint:Animal has mild N/D present(URI): As per 1009: Doxycycline 50mg 2.5ML SID X 10 days. Placed a 2 day check at the beganing of course of tx as per 1009,to see how animal is doing on Doxycycline. Will be placing a tech check to monitor appetite as well. Nosf
