Beautiful plush-velvet black kitten BEATRIX, just 13 months of age, entered the kill-happy ACC as a SUPPOSED “STRAY”, but this sweet, lovable girl came into the shelter FREE of fleas and ear mites, at a healthy weight, so it’s for sure that pretty Beatrix is a lost or abandoned pet kitty. Beatrix allowed all petting during intake and KNEADED her way to a near-perfect behavior rating of AVERAGE, but this gorgeous kitten will DIE tomorrow at noon, an INNOCENT VICTIM of an easily treated case of ringworm (a skin fungus). 07/29/15 13:12HRS Beatrix was found as a stray cat in the Bronx. The finder stated Beatrix allowed the finder to go near her but not pet or pick her up. While she was in the carrier the she meowed at the front gate. When a hand was extended towards her she remained still but allowed petting. She was collared, scanned for a microchip (negative) and photographed without incident.

Reaction to assessor: Beatrix looks neutral in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Beatrix remains crouched down on her cage bedding, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Beatrix accepts the stroke, kneads in place, however she seems unsure with her surroundings with eyes wandering. She then got comfortable after the touch and stands with tail up but slightly hesitant. Reaction to Being Picked up: She becomes antsy and jumps back into her cage. Placement determination: Average Beatrix interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
