AVALON – A1039599
6-14-2015 Manhattan
***GONE 06/14/15*** AMAZING AVALON IS PERFECTLY HEALTHY AND WAS FOUND IN A BUILDING HALLWAY A FEW DAYS AGO – SADLY SHE ALLOWED HER FINDER TO PICK HER UP AND TAKE HER TO THE ACC!! AVALON is a very pretty girl who the ACC can’t seem to decide whether she is 2 or 4 yrs old. She was found in a building hallway and had lived outside with a group of cats and kittens. AVALON allowed her finder to pick her up and put her in a carrier – little did she know that in 3 days she would be scheduled to die!!! Being friendly was not to her advantage that day. AVALON got a EXPNOCHILD rating since she is now nervous and fearful in the shelter. Can you blame her? Why do people seem to think that cats will be just fine in a shelter? They are very traumatized if they lived free and area suddenly caged with people poking at them all the time. AVALON needs you to advocate for her freedom tonight. CONTACT A RESCUE IF YOU CAN FOSTER OR ADOPT THIS GREAT CAT – SHE IS HEALTHY AND NEEDS A FUREVER HOME NOW!!

06/13/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Avalon looks tense in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Avalon remains crouched down with head down on her cage bedding, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Avalon accepts the stroke, but remains wary with her surroundings and shows no interest on the touch. Placement determination: Experience / no child Avalon tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
