07/08/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Atom came into the care center as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior or to her situation in her previous home. Atom has been intolerant of handling since arriving at the care center, growling and trying to bite during her initial medical evaluation. Reaction to assessor: Atom hisses, lunges toward the front of the cage, and tries to bite when approached. Due to this behavior and other similar behavior demonstrated in the care center, the interaction was ended at this point to prevent further distress. Placement determination: New Hope Only Atom appears highly fearful of human interaction and may have been poorly socialized. We recommend a New Hope partner experienced with the socialization process who can provide Atom with positive experiences to help gradually build her confidence and trust.
