07/06/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to Assessor: Atari was calm and relaxed upon approach. When softly spoken to, he starts to breathe rapidly and his eyes wander. Reaction to cage door opening: Atari lowers his body and becomes stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: Atari allows touch on his head, but his ears tilt sideways and squints his eyes. He does not allow touch on his back; he shifts away and hisses hard at the assessor’s hand. Behavior Determination: NH ONLY Atari is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. He is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
