***SAFE 06/04/15*** ASTRO HAS 2 BROKEN LEGS AND SINCE HE ISN’T FEELING WELL AND HISSED AT THE ASSESSOR, HE WAS SLAPPED WITH A NEW HOPE RATING!! ASTRO must be in pain and feeling miserable. Yet he was friendly and cooperative for the vets on his initial exam and the staff even commented that they think he is probably an indoor cat who somehow got out. He is injured, with 2 front legs broken and that can be painful. So when the assessor came with his big fake plastic hand and scared ASTRO and he hissed, he got the NEW HOPE rating. ASTRO is really a sweet cat who is hurt badly and needs medical attention. Once he is back to health, he will be fine. CAN YOU FOSTER THIS GUY? FOSTERING WILL SAVE HIS LIFE AND GET HIM THE MEDICAL HE NEEDS. CONTACT A RESCUE NOW TO PULL HIM TO SAFETY.

06/02/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Notes: Please note that Astro is being treated at the time of the behavior assessment. This condition may affect some of the behaviors shown during evaluation. Astro was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. She seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment. She was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time. Reaction to assessor: hisses, growls at me (3) When spoken quietly: hisses, growls at me (3) Reaction to door cage opening: become stiff, alert, continues to hiss (3) Reaction to touch: swats at me (4) Try picking cat up: not tolerant of this type of behavior, hisses swat. Placement Determination: NewHope
