12/07/15 09:00 Basic Information: Ashley is a 7month old female domestic short haired cat that has no past or current medical issues that the owner is aware of. Social Life & Personality: Ashley has been around children, she is a bit shy and prefers not to interact with them. She will hide or keep her distance in the presence of children. She has lived with other cats and according to the owner Ashley interacts with other cats just fine. The owner has never interacted Ashley with a dog due to never having one around for her to interact with and isn’t sure how she would react in the presence of one. Ashley is an indoor only cat that is litter box trained. Ashley is described to be shy and fearful with a medium activity level. Behavior Issues: The owner has made several attempts to bath Ashley and she appears to be afraid. She won’t hiss, swat, or bite, but she will give a struggle when trying to bath her. These issues also apply when trying to trim her nails. However Ashley will allow you to brush her coat but not for too long before she flee’s. Ashley doesn’t like to be held much and will struggle when trying to put her in a cat carrier for transport. For a New Family to Know: Ashley was brought up using clumping litter and a standard litter box. She is very interactive with cat toys and will play with just about anything according to the owner. Ashley did have a scratching post and she used it pretty often. When in the home Ashley is the type to rarely seek attention and hide somewhere around the home. When interacting with humans Ashley plays in a gentle manner. When in the car for transport Ashley appears to be afraid and will meow/cry. Ashley was brought up eating dry food and the brand the owner gave was Science Diet.

Ashley came to the shelter surrendered by an owner who found her outside. As per previous owner, Ashley is described as shy and fearful but has socialized well with other cats. Reaction to assessor: Ashley is hiding in her den. Reaction when softly spoken to: Ashley shifts around in her den, tense. Reaction to cage door opening: Ashley strikes at the front of the den and hisses. Reaction afterward: Ashley lies low in her den, ears flat, but strikes when assessor approaches. Placement Determination: New Hope Only Ashley appears fearful of the assessor and does not allow handling. Ashley is exhibiting behavior suited to rescue partners.
