***SAFE 12/09/15*** AWESOME APOLLO LIKES ATTENTION!! APOLLO is six years old and his owner had PERSONAL PROBLEMS….so this very exceptional cat finds himself at the ACC…APOLLO is said to get “overstimulated” when playing, this may be due to the fact that his owner never bothered to get him neutered!! Additionally, the ACC has given him both a BEGINNER and an EXPNOCHILD rating for his behavior, but they have him listed tonight as RESCUE ONLY! APOLLO is an all round nice cat who just needs neutering and directed play time and he will make an excellent cat companion!! BUT…the ACC can’t be bothered with that and since APOLLO caught their nasty cold, it is much easier to lost him!! PLEASE HELP AWESOME APOLLO FIND HIS NEW AND FURREVER HOME TONIGHT!! WORK WITH A NEW HOPE RESCUE GROUP TO FOSTER OR ADOPT APOLLO, TONIGHT!

12/07/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
The enrichment facilitator has reported that Apollo can get overstimulated. He meows loudly and demands a lot of attention. Apollo was tense, nervous and hissed during his initial exam but allowed petting. Reaction to assessor: Apollo comes to the front of the kennel and starts meowing loudly. Reaction when softly spoken to: Apollo reaches forward with claws out and continues to meow. Reaction to cage door opening: Apollo rubs his head against the kennel door and then reaches out swiping at the assessor’s hand. Reaction to touch: Apollo allows petting for a short time before getting over aroused and swiping at the assessor’s hand. He demands a lot of attention and continues to meow loudly. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Apollo solicits attention and tolerates petting but may be assertively demanding of attention or may play roughly. Due to him getting over aroused and leading him to swiping, we feel that this cat will do best in a home without children. According to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children. 11/18/15 Reaction to assessor: Apollo does not come to front but looks at you calm and relaxed When spoken quietly: Apollo does not come to front but looks at you calm and relaxed Reaction to door cage opening: Apollo calmly comes to the front of the cage Reaction to touch: Apollo allows petting and attention Try picking cat up: Apollo is tolerant of this type of handling. Behavior Determination: Beginner At the time of the assessment Apollo was displaying friendly behavior, comes to the front of the kennel, interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Apollo is displaying behavior appropriate for a beginner cat owner.
