APHRODITE – A1038663
*** GONE 06/13/15 *** THE GREEK GODS ARE ANGRY THAT THE ACC IS DARING TO LIST TWO OF THEIR NAMESAKES…..and naming a “male” cat APHRODITE….These two handsome youngsters are only a year old and were strays. Typically they have a NEW HOPE rating because that’s what the ACC likes to give to scared cats……ATHENA looks to have recently had kittens though she came in with none. THESE TWO CATS DON’T NEED MT. OLYMPUS…THEY NEED A FOSTER HOME…..PLEASE CONTACT A NEW HOPE RESCUE TONIGHT AND OFFER TO FOSTER!! IT SAVES LIVES!!

06/10/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Aphrodite came to us as a stray on 6/3/15. So, we do not have any behavioral information prior to what we have seen in the shelter environment. Upon approaching Aphrodite’s kennel she could be seen in the kennel attempting to hide. When the assessor attempted to touch Aphrodite, Aphrodite became very stiff and tense and attempted to flee. She does not seem to be thriving in the shelter environment and did not allow handling. The behavior department believes that Aphrodite should go to a rescue that can provide positive behavior modification. Reaction to assessor: continues to hide (was hiding when you approached cage) When spoken to quietly: continues to hide Reaction to cage door opening: becomes stiff, alert, tail flicks and retreats Reaction to touch: moves away from you to avoid being touched, with very stiff body language and attempts to flee.
