***SAFE 09/17/15 *** AWESOME ANNIE IS A PLAYFUL GIRL WITH LOTS OF PURRSONALITY….She is just over a year old and her owners have suddenly developed “ALLERGIES”…..ANNIE plays fine with children but can be a little rambunctious (the children were probably rambunctious too)….She would follow her owners all over the house and hang out with them….ANNIE is already SPAYED…..SHE would make a LOVING COMPANION…MAKE SURE THE SUN COMES OUT TOMORROW FOR HER!! I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 09/13/2015 from NY 11213, owner surrender reason stated was ALLERGIES.

09/13/15 14:58 Annie is a gray and white 22 mos. old female cat who was surrendered at ACC today by her owner. Annie is spayed and appears healthy but will need to have a full physical health exam. Annie is described as being pretty and having a large personality. Annie has been socialized with children but has not been socialized with cats and dogs. When she is around children she is respectful relaxed and tolerant. When interacting with children she can be somewhat rough in her play biting and swatting but never breaking skin or drawing blood. She is an indoor cat who is litter trained. She is described as being playful confident mellow friendly assertive affectionate quiet and independent. She has a high activity level and she is afraid of loud noises and is relaxed when traveling in cars. Annie has never been given a bath. She is not bothered when she is being picked up and held or when she is being placed inside of her carrier. She is not bothered when she is being brushed or when she is disturbed from her sleep. She uses clumping litter in a closed litter box. She likes to play with balls and wand toys and will engage in chasing games. She has a scratching post made out of cardboard that she does not use at all. She will however scratch furniture. She eats dry food twice a day but does not have any cat treats. When Annie is at home with her owner she will stay in the same room with them and she wll also follow them around the house. She likes to stay in every room in the house and she will sleep anywhere she wants at night. During the Intake process Annie was calm but aloof. She had limited interaction with people allowing herself to be collared and photographed inside of her carrier. She did not allow herself to be picked up as she struggled and retreated further into her carrier when an attempt was made.

Owner Profile: Annie was brought into the care center due to her previous owner having allergies. Annie has been socialized with children but has not been socialized with cats and dogs. When interacting with children she can be somewhat rough in her play biting and swatting but never breaking skin. She likes to play with balls and wand toys and will engage in chasing games. Reaction to assessor: Annie comes forward and begins to rub her head against the cage door. When spoken quietly: Annie solicits attention. Reaction to door cage opening: remains soft and relaxed Reaction to touch: Annie allows limited petting and attention before becoming tense. Her tails begins to flicker as she growls then raises her paw as a warning. Try picking cat up: Did not attempt to pick up Annie due to the behavior she was displaying. Placement Determination: Experience No child At the time of the assessment she was displaying friendly behavior, comes to the front of the kennel, and interacts with the assessor. Soon after she becomes tense and starts to low growl. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat owners with no children.
