AMIGO – A1042397

***GONE 07/06/15*** ALKATRAZE AND AMIGO ARE MOST LIKELY SIBLINGS WHO WERE DUMPED WITH 2 OTHER HOUSEMATES FOR THEIR OWNERS PERSONAL PROBLEMS – NOW THESE TWO PERFECTLY HEALTHY KITTENS WILL DIE FOR THEIR FEAR!!! How is it that when someone has PERSONAL problems, the cats get dumped? These two kitties ALKATRAZE and AMIGO had nothing to do with these problems, yet they were dumped along with 2 other cats who are not listed tonight in the kill happy shelter. Both of these kittens, who are only 9 months old, are terrified at being abandoned and separated from their siblings. Don’t let the new hope rating scare you away from adopting them as they were HOUSE PETS who lived in a home. Both cats were described as being friendly, playful, affectionate and quiet. That is what they are like IN A HOME – not in the scary shelter where they got an unfair NEW HOPE rating. GET THESE TWO KITTIES OUT OF HERE AND INTO A HOME AND THEY WILL BE JUST FINE AND GO BACK TO BEING THE PLAYFUL KITTENS THEY REALLY ARE. CONTACT A RESCUE NOW TO PULL THEM BOTH TO SAFETY!!

07/05/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Amigo does not come to the front, but is neutral inside his cage. When softly spoken to, he looks at the assessor, blinks, and then looks away. Reaction to cage door opening: Amigo becomes stiff and retreats to the back. Reaction to touch: Amigo growls at the assessor’s hand and his ears bend flat against his head. He is very focused on the hand, hisses at it, and swats when it gets near him. As per previous owner, Amigo has never been around children, dogs or any other cats besides his siblings. He is relaxed and affectionate around his siblings. Amigo does not enjoy being picked up and will struggle. They describe him as playful, confident, friendly, fearful and quiet. Behavior Determination: NH ONLY Amigo is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to swat, is extremely fearful in the shelter environment, and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
