10/07/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
10/07/15 15:40 Alder A1054066 and Larch A1054067 were living among other stray cats. Their finder trapped them in his yard and brought them to ACC. Alder was tense with wide eyes and dilated pupils in his trap. He sometimes held his mouth open. He fled. We caught him with a net and scanned him in the net (-). We transferred him directly to a kennel, and he curled up in the back. He sat there, tense, facing the wall a little, while we photographed him. He didn’t hiss or vocalize at all or attempt to strike, bite, etc.

10/10/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Alder looks tense in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Alder remains hiding in the cat den, alert with pupils fully dilated. Reaction to touch: Alder does not allow the stroke, hisses and swats at the assessor’s hand. Placement determination: NH ONLY Alder is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. He is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
