He solicits attention, purrs and rubs on his cage. This boy is only about a year old and just out of kittenhood. He should be in a home having a good time and playing with toys, catnip, and cuddling with his new cat owner. Yet the ACC will not let that happen as ACACIA caught the shelter cold and now must die according to their cruel rules. LOOK AT THIS SWEET FACE – HOW CAN YOU RESIST?? 06/10/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Acadia came to us as a stray on 6/3/15. So, we do not have any behavioral information prior to what we have seen in the shelter environment. Acadia quickly solicits attention upon seeing the assessor in front of the kennel. He allows the assessor to pet him softly and paws the assessor when the assessor ceases petting to gain the attention of the assessor once more. Acadia allows to be picked up but becomes quickly uncomfortable and jumps out of the assessor’s arms without displaying any signs of aggression. The behavior department believes that Acadia can go to an average home. Reaction to assessor: comes to front of cage – soliciting, rubbing against cage front, reaching out with paws When spoken to quietly: stays at front – continues to solicit attention, rubbing, purring, meowing Reaction to cage door opening: remains soft and relaxed Reaction to touch: solicits petting and attention – rubs, chirps, meows Reaction to being picked up: Becomes uncomfortable and quickly jumps out of assessor’s arms back into kennel.
