BEHAVIOR:
Reaction to assessor: Abuela was resting in her cage upon approach. When softly spoken to, she looks up at the assessor and blinks softly.
Reaction to cage door opening: Abuela remains soft and relaxed.
Reaction to touch: Abuela was a bit hesitant with touch at first, but lightly head-butts the assessor’s hand when pet. She comes to the front and purrs while the assessor continues to pet her.
Reaction to being picked up: Abuela remains soft and allows handling.
As per previous owner, Abuela is respectful around children and played gently with them. She also lived with 5 other cats, in which she was respectful, affectionate, and also played gently with them. She has a medium level of energy and was described as playful, mellow, friendly, and affectionate.
Behavior Determination: Average
Abuela interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.

Abeula is a 15 year old spayed cat who has no prior injuries or medical problems.
Personality and Social Life:
According to owner she is respectful around children (has spent time around children from ages 2-4) and when she played it was gentle. She lived with 5 other cats and was respectful, affectionate, and would play gentle with them. She has not been around dogs so her behaviors are unknown. She is litter box trained ad kept indoors only. She has a medium level of energy and was described as playful, mellow, friendly, and affectionate.
Behavior:
She has never bitten or scratched anyone or any animal before. She enjoys being bathed, brushed, picked up, held, and placed into a carrier.
New Family Info:
She is used to all types of litter inside an uncovered box. She plays with balls and catnip toys and will use a vertical scratching post made out of cardboard and rough rope. At home she followed owner around and was fed Friskies wet and dry food.
During intake approached extended hand and allowed all handling without aggression.
