06/05/15 16:58 Basic Information Abdullah was brought in as an owner’s surrender, due to owner’s wife having allergies. Owner says Abdullah is 1-year old, and has been with his owner since he received him from a friend two months ago. Client says Abdullah doesn’t have any injuries or health concerns, and when asked two things he likes most about Abdullah, client chose that he is playful, and seems to be a hunter. Personality & Behavior Abdullah is described as playful with a high activity level. Owner says Abdullah hasn’t been around any other animals, but with his 3-year old son he is friendly and relaxed, and plays gently with him. Client says Abdullah is litter-box trained, and kept indoors only. Client describes Abdullah as talkative and assertive, and says he will find a way to let him know if he’s hungry or wants attention. Owner says he has had no issues with Abdullah scratching or biting any one or another animal. Owner says he has never attempted to bathe, or trim Abdullah’s nails but he says he enjoys being brushed. Client says he is unbothered with being held or placed inside of carrier, and usually sleeps on his own bed and is unbothered if disturbed while asleep. For a New Family to Know Client says Abdullah is confident and friendly, and enjoys being around people. Client says Abdullah uses an uncovered litter-box with the clumping type of litter, and enjoys playing with toy balls and string. Client says due to Abdullah not having a scratching post he instead scratches on the couch. Owner says when home Abdullah follows him around, and during play he says they get a bit rough with each other. Owner says Abdullah is unbothered with car rides, and is schedule fed with both wet and dry food. Behavior during Intake Abdullah was calm during intake. He was alert when taken out of owner’s carrier but he then calmed down. He allowed me to stroke his fur, and play with him. He didn’t want to go back inside of carrier, and even allowed me to pick him up and place him inside. Abdullah showed no signs of aggression during intake.

Abdullah’s former owner stated he hasn’t been around any other animals, but with his 3-year old son he is friendly and relaxed, and plays gently with him. Also, stated he is confident and friendly, and enjoys being around people. Reaction to assessor: Abdullah looks neutral in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Abdullah remains lying down on his cage bedding, immobile in place. Reaction to touch: Abdullah accepts the stroke, stands with tail up, and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: He calmly jumps back into his cage. Placement determination: Average Abdullah interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
