YAMS – A1046096
8-9-2015 Brooklyn
***GONE 08/09/15***BLACK AND WHITE TABBY CUTIE IS PURRFECTLY HEALTHY AND NEEDS RESCUE ANGEL! Meet Yams, a two year old good girl who came into the shelter on 7/31 with a couple of her furry friends, is purrfectly healthy and desperately needs us to move her to safe haven. Yams is a little shy but tolerates attention and handling. She is yet another adoptable pet who is set to become another sad ACC stat tomorrow afternoon if we don’t do everything we can to help her tonight. Yam would love to reward her lucky new purrson with lots of love and affection. Please give her that chance by pulling her online tonight. You can contact a NH rescue for help with transportation (available if you live within a few hours of NYC). So make the call for Yams NOW! Save a life. Make a difference.

08/05/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to Assessor: Yams was focused on the assessor with her ears tilted sideways upon approach. She looks at the assessor, and then looks away and breathes rapidly when softly spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Yams becomes stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: Yams remains immobile, but twitches when pet on her body. She focuses on the assessor’s hand during the interaction and begins to grumble. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Yams tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
