11/15/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Xenia was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Upon intake she was tense and did not allow any handling. Reaction to assessor: Xenia was at the back of the kennel motionless. Reaction when softly spoken to: Xenia makes eye contact with the assessor and slow blinks. Reaction to cage door opening: Xenia remains neutral. Reaction to touch: Xenia shifts away trying to avoid contact. When touched she hisses and tries to bite. She allows no handling. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Xenia is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to bite and is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
