05/26/15 17:49 BASIC INFO Solly (short for Solomon) is a 6 year old neutered DSH. His owner got him from a friend 6 years ago and surrendered him due to cost. Solly had a urinary blockage in Jan. 2015 for which he was hospitalized for 3 days. He was treated on 5/23 for another urethral obstruction. He’s supposed to eat only c/d wet food and is on meds. SOCIALIZATION Solly is shy with strangers for a few minutes and then is very friendly. He’s spent time with children ages 0-9 and is relaxed, affectionate, and tolerant with them. He plays exuberantly with people. He lived with a female cat and a small dog. He was relaxed, affectionate, tolerant, and playful with the other animals and played gently with them. They all slept together on the same bed. Solly hasn’t bit/scratched anyone. BEHAVIOR Solly has no known behavior issues. He’s relaxed in the car. He loves being brushed and held. He doesn’t mind having his nails trimmed or being woken up. He struggles when being bathed and put in a carrier. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Solly’s family describes him as friendly, affectionate, playful, mellow, confident, and medium energy. His owner loves that he’s caring and sympathetic and is wonderful company when he’s not feeling well. He follows and sits on him. He likes to play with balls, string, stuffed toys, and plastic crinkly toys. Solly lived inside and slept on his cat bed or in his owner’s bed. He eats wet science diet c/d prescription food. He’s littertrained and hasn’t had accidents, even when he has blockages. He uses a hooded litterbox with clumping litter. He scratches a cardboard horizontal scratcher and doesn’t scratch furniture. INTAKE Solly had a soft body during handling-scan (negative), collar, pictures, putting in kennel, petting. He was easy to handle and didn’t resist, retreat, or vocalize.

06/06/15 Behavior Improvement: Average Reaction to assessor: Solly looks neutral in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Solly remains lying down in a relaxed position on his cage bedding, alert with soft eyes. Reaction to touch: Solly head-butts the assessor’s hand, rolls over in place, and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: He calmly jumps back into his cage. Placement determination: Average Solly interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents. 05/28/15 Behavior: ENC Reaction to assessor: Solly looks worried in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Solly remains crouched down on his cage bedding, alert with pupils fully dilated. Reaction to touch: Solly accepts the stroke, but began to eye wander then low growls after a few strokes.
