GONE 08/31/15 Meets Socks, a 2 year old big boy that was brought into the ACC when his human decided personal problems trumped Socks life. Socks was born at home and has lived with other cats. So much for caring and loving the cats you brought into the world. Socks is a cool cat, laid back, easy, affectionate. It would be a shame for this guy to lose his life because he couldn’t find a home. You see there are 40 cats on the list tonight, Socks has heavy competition. Don’t let Socks fall through the cracks. 08/25/15 16:16 Basic Information: Socks is a 2 year old unaltered male domestic shorthair. Owner stated she was bred at home. Owner surrenders her because she of personal problems. Social Life and Personality: Socks lived with three adults and no children. Owner stated Socks is relaxed, affectionate and respectful towards everyone in the household. Socks lived with many cats one of them name Shadow A1049129. Owner stated Socks is playful and affectionate towards the Shadow but they will fight for attention and food. Socks behavior is unknown towards the dog. He was indoors only and activity level is to a medium. Owner describes socks as playful, friendly, assertive, quiet, and affectionate. Behavior: Socks never bitten or scratched anyone to owner knowledge. He clawed on furniture and still used the scratching post. He enjoys being picked up and held. For a New Family to Know: Socks litter box trained and uses an uncovered litter box. He likes to play with balls or catnip toys. He will follow owner around the house and eats wet or dry food twice a day. Owner stated Socks like to cuddle and sleep in the same bed as owner. Intake Behavior: Upon intake Socks was nervous and tense. He scanned negative for a microchip and allowed limited handling

Owner Profile: SocksSocks lived with three adults and no children. The previous owner stated Socks is relaxed, affectionate and respectful towards everyone in the household. Socks lived with other cats. They also stated Socks is playful and affectionate towards the other cat but they will fight for attention and food. Socks behavior is unknown towards the dog. He was indoors only and activity level is to a medium. Socks is described as playful, friendly, assertive, quiet, and affectionate. Notes: Socks at the time of the assessment was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains motionless as I started to get closer. I was able to pet him and interact with him in a limited way. I was also able to pick him up and although he was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: remains motionless Reaction to touch: seems indifferent to my presence and touch Try picking cat up: Socks is tolerant of this type of handling but tense.
