SILVER – A1046366
8-17-2015 Brooklyn
** GONE 08/17/15** EXPERIENCE-rated SILVER is a gorgeous, hunky 5-year-old whose former owner had been feeding him for several years. His owner surrender notes show us a well-mannered gentleman, but his elderly owner is also said to have grown “afraid” of him for some reason; one thing led to another, and Silver finds himself on the euth list tonight. Take one good look at that silky, pensive face and even the hardest heart will melt. Please work mightily to ensure that a FOSTER or ADOPTER steps up to save Silver, tonight!

08/10/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to Assessor: Silver was resting in his cage upon approach. He looks at the assessor and blinks when softly spoken to, possibly due to sleepiness. Reaction to cage door opening: Silver backs away slightly. Reaction to touch: Silver was a bit hesitant at first, but warms up and leans on the assessor’s hand. After a little while, he rolls onto his side and begins to purr. Reaction to being picked up: Silver becomes tense, but allows handling. Note: Silver was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. The finder reports that he has lived outside with other cats and may be an in and outdoor cat. The finder also says that he loves to play, enjoys petting, uses a scratching post, and loves to cuddle and be picked up. Behavior Determination: Experience Silver tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
