Safe 12-2-2015 Staten Island Rescue: HVARS Please honor your pledges: http://www.hvars.org/
***SAFE 12/02/15*** SHELBY is a handsome gray guy, a big hunky sweetheart of a cat who has found himself on the shelter’s death row list for tomorrow. Poor sweet guy!! He’s an older furry gentlemen, around 10 who was brought into the shelter as a stray. His teeth haven’t been taken care of so he has some periodontal disease and because of his age, he doesn’t see so well anymore. Often overlooked geriatric cats like SHELBY can be sweet and calm and wonderful pets!! This guy was probably someone’s pet who was abandoned. He’s used to people and open to petting and handling. SHELBY is a lover, not a fighter. But he’s fighting for his life tonight. Please BE SHELBY’S RESCUE HERO!! YOU WON’T BE SORRY YOU SAVED THIS HANDSOME GRAY SWEETHEART’S LIFE!!

11/28/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
11/28/15 10:50 Profile wasn’t left due to animal being stray. Behavior During Intake: Shelby was brought into the facility in a cat carrier provided by the finder. Upon arrival Shelby just sat in the carrier meowing. After a few moments she got quite and I made an attempt to pet her. When I extended my hand she hissed and then swatted towards it. During transfer she gave me a bit of a struggle but due to the behavior I was no able to scan, collar, or handle Shelby.
