*** SAFE 08/19/15 *** SECOND NIGHT ON THE LIST, PLEASE MAKE IT COUNT! SWEET SASHA RELIED ON THE KINDNESS OF STRANGERS AND IT LED HER HERE….The purrson who fed her tried to do the right thing when forced by the building superintendent to make a decision…..SASHA is not happy having her freedom curtailed and probably missing the purrson who looked out for her…..This calico one year old needs a new purrson and a real home where she can blossom. IF YOU HAVE ROOM IN YOUR HOME AND YOUR HEART, PLEASE CONSIDER FOSTERING OR ADOPTING SASHA…..She is a lovely little cat who deserves better than the fate the ACC has planned tomorrow…..SAVE HER TONITE!! 08/12/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
08/12/15 11:11 BASIC INFO: Sasha A1047569 is a stray domestic shorthair cat. She is being surrendered to the shelter because she was found as a stray inside of Finder’s building. The cat would come and go, because the Finder lived on the first floor and fed her 9 lives dry food. The Superintendent of the building was planning to put the cat out of the building, so the Finder dedcided to bring it to Animal Care Center’s of NYC. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE: Sasha was very relaxed and sweet during process.

08/16/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Sasha becomes stiff and alert upon approach. She looks at the assessor when softly spoken to, but looks away and seems wary of the environment. Reaction to cage door opening: Sasha remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Sasha sniffs the assessor’s hand and remains in place for petting, but she starts to breathe rapidly and hisses. She continues to allow petting, but is wide-eyed and focused on the environment. Note: Sasha was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She was very relaxed and sweet upon intake and during her initial medical exam, but she is displaying fearful behaviors during the behavior assessment. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Sasha tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
