SAMOA – A1058036
Urgent 12-1-2015 Manhattan
**GONE 12/01/15** SAMOA is in real trouble, tonight. This 5-year-old beauty was brought into the ACC with a reputation of being “intimidated” by people, which just begs the question: What have people done to SAMOA? She is as gorgeous as the day is long, and she is a bit on the cushy side, so it’s clear that someone has been taking care of her. Someone, or a group of someones, has taught SAMOA that people can’t be trusted and should be met with defensive actions. Her NEW HOPE rating comes as no surprise, so this girl needs an understanding soul who will help her retool her impression of people. That MUST happen tonight, so please advocate strongly for SAMOA!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
As per previous owner, Samoa is very intimidated by people. She would hide in the house and only come out to eat. Reaction to assessor: Samoa is hiding in her feral den on approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Samoa continues to hide. Reaction to cage door opening: Samoa becomes stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: Samoa hisses and swats at the assessor’s hand. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Samoa is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to swat and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. She may have a known history of behavioral issues that need to be addressed. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
